With the 9900K stock, during intensive AVX loads (h265 enc, Prime95 Small AVX) the CPU temps and VRMs were too high for my taste: roughly, both were hitting 100C. So I crippled the 9900K a bit (PL1 150W / auto time, and PL2 200W / 2secs ) and lowered both CPU max temps and VRM temps: roughly, 80C and 90C max, respectively. Also, the NH-D15 has more thermal mass than the Evo 212. This Noctua has better heat removal capacity, which is what you want from a cooling device. The NH-D15 is a direct, no interference, no problem fit on the Z97X-SLI according to the Noctua product page. And I've seen this board with all of the big air coolers on it at various times. The are no indicated memory interference issues listed as there are with some other motherboard models.

I have a Noctua NH-D15 with an EVGA RTX 2070 XC, and Corsair Vengeance LPX. The graphics card is a non issue. For the RAM though, if you want to use the second fan it should be low profile or your case needs to be thick as hell because the fan will stick out above the radiator. You basically need to delid (for an i7 8700k) for the second fan to lsdq2.
