The steering in the F10 is too loose, but I knew that after a couple of test drives. The suspension in sport+ mode is ok, but it's not as firm as my old E39 with Bilstein's. I really like the seats in the F10 vs. the E39, and pretty much everything about the interior of the F10 is superior to the E39 (of course, my E39 was 9 1/2 years old!).
Overall the G30 just feels a lot more nimble and doesn’t roll in corners so much. The engine is astoundingly quiet (I thought the F10 528i was quiet!). It has more than enough power to give you some RWD fun and make quick work of my commute. For normal driving I see little reason to upgrade to the 540i.

The sport has 18" wheels while the M has 19" wheels. The M for 2012 basically just adds the exterior body kit, sill trim and the Msport steering wheel instead of the sport wheel. The 2011 M sport included a few additional suspension bits but they are separate now. The 2012 suspension between the two sport packs is identical.

The interior of the F10 is slightly more luxurious in comparison. The plastic materials used are better quality and the seats are full leather and are are much more adjustable. Also the pop up Nav screen is annoying, it clutters the dash. (no option for auto trunk,soft close doors, sunshade). Winner: BMW.

M sport suspension lowers the suspension a tad, but no real dampening changes. Adaptive shocks and M sport suspension are mutually exclusive. Option S223A is adaptive, S704A is M sport. mdecoder is the go to site for vin decoding. Something must be different. Our base 535 rides much different than our m-sport 535.
